How is Professional Coaching different from Therapy?

While the profesional coaching I provide can be therapeutic, it is not therapy.  Professional coaching is not designed to address psychological issues and is distinct from traditional therapy or counseling. While emotional issues may arise, the primary focus of professional coaching is to help you:
  • Increase your awareness of your strengths and personal obstacles
  • identify goals
  • Develop constructive strategies, habits and skills to achieve those goals
  • Create a plan to sustain change and momentum
The focus of professional coaching is to illuminate what you want now and in the future. Little emphasis placed on the past with professional coaching.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24 hour notice to cancel all sessions. Please be sure to contact me if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment to avoid being charged for the session.

How long do people generally work with a Professional Coach?

To experience the effectiveness of a professional coaching program, I recommend clients make an initial three-month or 12-session commitment. At the end of the three months, we will evaluate progress and discuss options for continued coaching.

Is professional coaching confidential?

What we discuss will be held in strictest confidence and not shared with others. However, our discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, professional coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will always be protected.
